Too Many People Moving

The past 6 months have been pretty rough on Eric and I. In June our neighbors and closest friends, Amanda and Josh Dishmon, moved to Monterey, CA. It was so sad to see them leave but we set up many different time that we would visit. I have already been out twice (Eric once) and Amanda is planning on visiting over the winter. Eric and I are trying to get out to CA again in the spring. We miss them very much.

Then, a little less than a month ago, Dave Brown, the youth pastor at the church, moved home to Chicago. He will be in Chicago until after the first of the year. Then we will set out on a year long missions trip around the world. Eric and I are very excited for Dave, but at the same time visiting is out of the questions and communication will be limited. Eric two closest guy friends have moved.

Then this weekend Eirc and I said goodbye to another family of friends. Karen and her daughter Sara Sullivan are moving to Clearwater, FL. It is also sad to see them go, but they are moving back to my neck of the woods. I lived in Sarasota, FL for six years. We still have friends down in that area that we like to visit, so I know I will be visiting Karen.

These past few months have been difficult saying goodbye to so many of our friends. Is this a sign? Is our time here almost up? Whatever happens we have some great friends and some wonderful and fun places to visit! WE MISS YOU ALL!!!

Surprise visitors

Saturday morning I was taking my time getting up when I received a surprise phone call at 8:30am. It was Amy and Andres Torres. Amy called to tell me that they were in CT on their way to a wedding in Boston. We talked for a little and then set up plans to visit on Sunday. Sunday afternoon, after church, Amy, Andres and baby Elise stopped by for a visit and lunch. Big brother Caleb stayed home with his Grandma. It was nice to visit and catch up with Amy and Andres. Eric and I also got to hold and play with Elise. She is such a happy baby! It was such a nice surprise! Eric and I miss everyone so much! Can't wait to come down and visit.

Church Cantata

This past Saturday Night and Sunday church service we performed our church cantata called, "Tonight, Heaven Touches Earth." The stage was decorated with trees that had been spray painted and also sprayed with snow. There were sheets all over the floor with lights underneath to look like snow sparkling in the moonlight. The concert went very well. Our Quintet sang two songs. Then Pastor Bruce sang. I finished the opening by singing "O Holy Night." The Cantata was about an hour long. I love singing in the cantata because it helps to get me in the Christmas Spirit.

No Tree For Christmas!

Today is a sad day in CT. Eric and I have been trying to get a Christmas Tree since we got back from Thanksgiving. We were going to buy one yesterday, but we ended up decorating the church sanctuary for the cantata. After we got back we discussed the idea of a Christmas Tree. We realized that we are only going to be here for a little over a week. Then we will be at the Fretts and Phillips. So it is not worth spending the money and little time that we have to buy a Christmas Tree. I know....it is so sad! So I will enjoy my "christmas tree" by candles, pictures and friends and family trees. Next year I am getting a big Tree!

New York with Kelli

On Saturday, December 6th Eric and I were able to meet Kelli in NY city. Unfortunately Laura had a basketball tournament so she could not come. (We will have to go to the city later, Laura). Eric and I arrived in the city about 10am. We went down to Union Square to do a little window shopping. After about an hour we made our way back to Rockefeller center to meet up with Kelli. Her bus arrived around 12:30. After visiting the tree and taking pictures, we made our way to Ellen's Stardust Diner for lunch. This diner has your typical diner food, but the wait staff sings and dances for you. It was a lot of fun. After lunch we walked over to 5th Ave. and up to the Central Park Zoo. It wasn't a huge zoo, but it was nice to visit. After the zoo we walked through the park to the Tavern on the Green. It is a beautiful restaurant that is covered in lights, but It was still light out so the lights weren't lit yet. After a nice walk we made our way to the subway to head back down to Time Square. We arrived in TIme Square around 3:30. We went to our typical bathroom spot in the Marriott Hotel and relaxed for a little before heading back out in the cold. Of course we had to stop and get Jamba Juice and visit the Hershey store. Around 4:30 we made out way over to the Gershwin theater, where my Aunt Marybeth was working. She is the Production stage manager. We were able to go in and see the theater. Then we made our way to another diner where we met up with Uncle Gregg and my cousin Gregory. It was nice to visit with them for a little while. After a quick visit and snack we were off to drop Kelli off at her bus. Then Eric and I made our way back to the train station. It was a great visit to the city.

Happy Thanksgiving!

This Thanksgiving Eric and I went to the Fretts. We arrived late Tuesday night and left late Saturday night. Leaving late at night the day before the "main travel time" meant we missed all the traffic. It was wonderful! We spend the long weekend with the Fretts and our England Family, the Dredges. It was great to see them and catch up on what was going on. We also got to see Jenny, Daniel and Evie for a little while.

On Thanksgiving Day Eric and I we able to go to 2 Thanksgiving meals. First was at the Fretts. The Second was in Malvern at my Aunt's where my entire family was celebrating. It was great to visit. We were also able to visit Bridget and Jake Kavitski. It is great that they live so close to my Aunt.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving break!
