The Joys of Having Creative Cats

The past two weeks have reminded us of how creative and "entertaining" our cats are.

Two weeks ago I made a cake for Eric's Dad. I set it out too cool (covered with a towel). When I returned to ice the the cake I noticed something:

Two little paw prints:

As if someone (Tanzi) jumped up and landed on top of the cake.  Thank goodness it was covered.

Last week we left the closet door open as we were putting clothes away and we found Mystique up on top of the rack in a crate:

Yesterday The cats found an empty Diet Coke Box:
Mystique pretending to ignore Tanzi

Look at how Tanzi jumped

Tanzi is looking for her

I guess Tanzi got bored.

Our Kitties are so cute!

Making Thanksgiving Meal on My Own

On Veterans Day I decided to make the FULL Thanksgiving meal. Yes, I know it is crazy to make that big of a meal for just Eric and I, but I figured I would start practicing now before I have 3 kids running around and relatives visiting. This way I can work out all the kinks. For example: Last year when I tried this I accidentally grabbed just a turkey breast. This year I made sure I bought a real full turkey, but I put too much sage in the stuffing. Hopefully next year the stuffing will be much better. By the time dinner was ready I had made an 11 lb. turkey, homemade stuffing, homemade mashed potatoes, peas, cranberry sauce, homemade gravy, and even a homemade pumpkin pie and french silk pie with cool whip.

Here are some pictures of my success.

No more Bachelors in Room 1110

Patrick Jones, the last member of Room 1110, married his best friend, Katie Daly, on November 8th.

Eric and I were able to attend the wedding in Reahobeth Beach. We drove down Friday afternoon for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. It was great catching up with Troy and Jesse.

The day of the wedding Patrick was so excited. We had lunch with him and he kept saying that he was going 25 mph. Now 30mph. Now 40mph. He was getting more and more excited as the wedding approached.

At the time of the wedding Patrick began to cry when the bridesmaids were walking down the aisle. When Katie began her walk Patrick lost it. He was crying so hard that the priest had to put his arm around him to hold him steady. Eric told me later that he kept saying he could not believe that he finally found his wife. He was so excited that he could not contain his joy, so bring on the tears. The wedding ceremony was great. Katie looked beautiful.

While Eric and Troy did their groomsmen duties, Jesse and I went back to the hotel to relax until the reception. Jim and Jen and Jarrett and Hillary were able to hang out with us. It was great catching up and chatting with Jen and Hillary about their pregnancies.

The reception was held at a local vineyard. Eric and I had a wonderful time. It was sweet seeing all the boys (all 5) together and all married.

The New Future President is...

Barack Obama

I know for some people it is great news; for others it was a disappointment. Either way you voted this is a monumental and historical moment in American History. God bless America. God is in control. His plan is perfect. Now, instead of praying for a specific person, I am praying that God will give him wisdom over the four years to come.
