From July 2nd -July 8th Eric and I went to visit Amanda and Josh in Monterey, CA. We did so much it is too hard to summarize, so I will break it down by day.
Wednesday July 2nd -
Eric and I flew from Hartford, CT to Chicago at 6:30am EST. We flew over Niagra Falls! Our next flight from Chicago left at 9:55am CST to San Jose, CA. We flew over the Rocky Mountains and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. We landed in San Jose at 12:20pm PST. When we arrived Josh and Amanda grabbed our bag and we were off to San Francisco. In San Francisco we went to Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 for lunch, took a tour boat under the Golden Gate Bridge and around Alcatraz, walked to Ghirardeli Square, up to Lambard Street and back to our car. Then we drove across the Golden Gate Bridge. We tried to get better pictures but the fog rolled in, so we drove back across the Golden Gate Bridge and went home.

Thursday July 3rd -
We all slept in, grabbed coffee at Starbucks and then Amanda made us this delicious breakfast casserole. After breakfast we all walked down the Cannery Row and over to Monterey's Fisherman's Wharf. We went Whale watching. After looking for over an hour finally a mother whale and her calf decided to say hello. Lunch/dinner was at a local restaurant on Fisherman's Wharf. Then we all walked up the street to the Post office and of course grabbed some Jamba Juice. and headed back to Cannery Row. We walked and window shopped about 1/2 of Cannery Row. Amanda bought a candy apple and I bought Ghirardeli ice cream.We took our treats back to their house, relaxed and watched"So you think you can dance!"

Thursday July 3rd -

Friday July 4th -
We all got up, got ready and walked down Amanda and Josh's gianormous hill to Cannery Row. We got some Starbucks and some of the best homemade/store bought cinnamon rolls ever. It was from a local shop called "Lily Mae's" After a great sugar filled breakfast we walked the rest of Cannery Row, saw some of the thousands of seals and sea lions and stopped at Lover's Point. Next we went to the downtwon of Pacific Grove. We had lunch at El Torito including some great margaritas. Then we walked to the aquarium to get tickets for later in the weekend. Amanda and Josh were able to get an amazing deal! After the thrill of the aquarium we went to Bargetto and the Taste of Monterey for wine tasting. Then we went back to the apt. Had a cookout of burgers and hotdogs on the grill. Then it was back downtown for the fireworks show. We claimed out territory, but Amanda and I got bored so we went for another walk. When we returned to the blanket - a woman yelled at another family near by claiming they took her spot. "Can't you see the patted grass" as she pats it. the nice family moved for her. Amanda and I could not keep it together, we were laughing so hard, so the boys sent us on another walk. This time we found where all the sea lions were resting. Also a baby seal came up onto the beach near all the people and the cops had to be called. Finally it was getting dark so we returned to the blanket to watch the fireworks. Over all a very entertaining night. To end the night we returned to the apt. to watch "Rat Race."

Friday July 4th -

Saturday July 5th -
Eric and Amanda went to Starbucks, while Josh and I stayed at the apt to get ready. We had cereal for breakfast and were all off. It was a gloomy day so we decided to take advantage of it and visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We saw the shows at the aquarium and then we decided to leave to get lunch. We went to Louie Linguini's. After lunch we went back to the aquarium to "see" the rest of it. We saw a penguin and sea otter feeding. After spending most of the day at the aquarium we went back to the apt to rest a little. Then we went to get some Jamba Juice. We took the Jamba Juice on the road for the 17 mile Drive where we got to stop at Pebble Beach Golf course for some pictures. We also got to see the sunset. Then on the way home we stopped and got Papa John's Pizza (the best pizza in the world) We enjoyed our pizza and watched Zoolander before bed.

Sunday July 6th -
We woke up and got ready. Then we had breakfast, which was Amanda's amazing breakfast casserole, while we had a devotional We read Romans 12. After breakfast and devotions we drove to Salinas to get the best burger, fries and shake I have ever had at In and Out Burger. Then we drove to Carmel where we were visited a Spanish Mission. Next we went into town. We walked onto the beautiful beach in Carmel (white sand and near Pebble Beach) Then we walked up main street. there were so many fancy cars and fancy stores! we went to Jamba Juice again for the boys! Then we had dinner back at the apt. Josh grilled steaks and Amanda made potatoes and green beans. She even bought me apple sauce for my green beans! Then we ended the night by walking down to Cannery Row where a new store had opened and they practically handed Amanda a job and we all grabbed ice cream. On the way down to Cannery Row there was a huge explosion, the lights went out and then the seagulls began to circle the area. After turning the corner we realized that a seagull had juiced itself on the power lines. It was awful! Once we had dessert went headed back up the ridiculous hill to the apt for wine and mario cart.

Monday July 7th -
Josh had to wake up extra early because he had to go to class. The rest of us slept in a little and woke to have more of those delicious cinnamon buns. After breakfast and getting ready Eric, Amanda and I walked to Starbucks and a few different shops. We stopped by the Coast Guard Pier with all the seals and sea lions and took many pictures. Then we walked to Amanda and Josh's beach, but before we could start to layout Josh called. So we walked to meet him at for lunch. We grabbed lunch at Taco Bell and then Josh had to head back to school. Before heading back to the beach Amanda Eric and I got some more Jamba Juice. We layed out at the beach for about an hour. While laying out Eric said, "Oh, a dog!" Amanda and I didn't think anything of it, because we had been looking at all the different dogs on the beach. Next thing I knew Amanda screamed and rolled toward me. So of course I screamed. What we quickly figured out is that when Eric said oh there is a dog he meant right next to the blanket. The dog licked Amanda's face and that is why she screamed. We laughed about that for a while! After the beach Amanda and I went shopping and Eric went back to hang out with Josh and practice for his speech. Then Amanda and I went back to the apt. to pack and get ready for dinner. We had dinner at Willy's Smokehouse where we had wine and ribs. Then I bought myself a sweatshirt and we headed to El Torito for margarita, chips and dessert. Finally we went home to finish packing and hangout before bed.

Tuesday July 8th -
Amanda and I tried to stay up all night, but she started to feel sick, so after 3 hours of the bachelorette we decided to go to bed for 3 hours. Amanda, Eric and I all woke up at 3:30. We headed to San Jose, which was about an hour and a half ride. We arrived at the airport around 5am. We said see ya later to Amanda (I will be seeing her again in a little over a month when I come out with Rachel - It was Eric's birthday gift to me) Saying bye wasn't too hard since I will see her soon. Then Eric and I went to catch out flight. We flew at 6:30am to Dallas, Fort Worth. When we landed and had only 30 mins to get across the airport to our next flight before it left. So we did run. We got to our plane just in time. We arrived in Hartford, CT around 5pm. Jarrett was there to pick us up. Then we went back to his house to pick up our car. for the drive home.
We had a great time in CA. Thank you Josh and Amanda for a fun time. Can't wait to visit again. In the mean time we will call, skype and play mario cart. We miss you!

Sorry about your wallet, that sucks. I lost my debit card a few months ago, and even that was a big pain in the patootie.
Glad you're home safe! Jason will be gone for a month soon, but when he gets back we'll have to get together. Or, if you want, call me during the day! I'm always around!
