Election Day Nov. 4th

On November 4th we all have a duty.  

VOTE!  

It is our duty to use our God given ability to vote.  Don't think that your vote doesn't matter because if we each thought our votes didn't matter than no one would vote.  God is all-powerful and his plan is perfect.   Remember, it is your responsibility, so vote.   See you at the Polls!

World Series Champs - PHILLIES!

GO PHILLIES!

Philadelphia Phillies Won Game 5 of the World Series last night (10/29/08), clenching the title of the World Series Champions. They won the series 4-1. 

I could not be more proud of MY Phillies. I have loved the Phillies since... I can remember! Always sporting Phillies shirts and hats. I will admit that I have not watched every game faithfully, but cut me some slack - baseball games are long! This season I knew the Phillies were doing well, but I have seen that before, so I didn't get too excited. By the time the playoffs started I was completely obsessed with watching the games and cheering on my Phillies! 

This season  has been amazing! 

The last time the Phillies won the World Series was in 1980.

The number of the pitcher for the last inning for each game: 

'80 it was #45 and '08 it was #54. 

All the same numbers just reversed - How cool is that?

My favorite player this year became Victorino, aka - the flyin Hawaiian. #8. He was amazing! Two other player that I also love are Jimmy Rollins and Ryan Howard.

Columbus Day visit by Phillips

Over Columbus Day weekend mom and dad Phillips came for the long weekend. Since they were here for an extra day we were able to do extra things. Saturday we went for a walk, drove to BF Clydes for apple cider and cider donuts, drove to meet the Fretts (parents) and the Butlers (Jenny, Daniel and Evie) at Bishops to pick apples, stopped at Jonathan Edward's Winery for wine tasting and finally had dinner at the Cheesecake Factory in Providence, RI. Sunday we had a nice breakfast and went to church. After church we came home for my pork and apple lunch than we went our separate ways. Mom and I went to AK Dasher, Yankee Candle and Target, while Dad and Eric (and Dave) went to the Book Barn. For dinner the four of us went to Margaritas, the best mexican place ever. After dinner we came home to watch the baseball game with Dave and have munchies. Monday we went to Kitchen Little for a nice breakfast before Eric had to go to work. After Eric went to work I took mom and dad to Bluff Point for a nice 2 mile walk before their 6 hour drive. We did a lot, but it wasn't crazy. It is always a lot of fun when they come to visit.

At Jonathan Edward's Winery:

Wildlife is going crazy

Yesterday, Oct. 8th, the wildlife in my neighborhood went a crazy. There were two encounters that I would like to share with you.

First encounter:
I was sitting in my apt, on the phone, with my wonderful friend Bridget, when a hawk flew in and landed on a branch about 10 feet from my back porch. The hawk sat there for about 30 mins just watching the animals on the forest ground below. I was able to get a few pictures. Some will be like a "where's Waldo"picture. After 30 mins the hawk just flew. It was beautiful!

Second encounter:
I was on my way back home later that evening when "all of a sudden" two deer shot out across the road. They were beautiful, but it scared me. They were so aggressive and brave. They just shot out of the woods and leap across the street.

What is going on? Is there a full or new moon coming? The animals are getting very brave.

So supposedly there was a full moon about 3-5 days later. That explains a lot.
